Dainese Auxagon
Auxagon is Dainese's level 1 back protector for snowboarders, and is known for its flexibility, light weight and breathability. The design is inspired by auxetic structures, shapes found in nature that respond uniquely to pressure and tension. When an auxetic protector is stretched in one direction, the same happens in all other directions. Similarly, compression at a specific point leads to densification in all directions, making the material stiffer and providing extra strength at the point of impact. Conversely, when the material is stretched, it expands in all directions. Thanks to these properties, auxetic designed protectors combine optimum safety with flexibility, as they dynamically adapt to the forces acting on them.
